Rent first, decide later
You start on an ordinary rental. Nothing about the delivery, the installation, or the monthly fee changes, and you are not committing to buy anything on day one.
Rent-to-buy
Start on an ordinary rental. 60% of every payment credits against the purchase price, and from month 12 you can buy the pod outright for whatever is left. Or keep renting. Or send it back.

How it works
You start on an ordinary rental. Nothing about the delivery, the installation, or the monthly fee changes, and you are not committing to buy anything on day one.
From the first month, 60 cents in every rental dollar accrues against the pod's purchase price. The credit follows the pod, so a swap or a relocation does not reset it.
Once you have rented for twelve months the buyout opens and stays open. You pay the purchase price less everything credited so far, plus a $295 transfer fee.
The option is yours and it never expires. If you would rather keep renting, nothing changes. If you return the pod instead, the accrued credit lapses and you owe nothing further.
While you rent, servicing is included as normal. After purchase you get a 12-month parts warranty, and after that the pod is yours to maintain.
Calculator
Pick a pod and drag to the month you might buy. The bar shows how much of the price your rent has already covered.
$8,626
60% of $14,376 paid in rent
$3,374
plus a $295 transfer fee
Buying on day one is the cheapest way to own a pod. Rent-to-buy costs more because you are also paying for use, servicing, and the option to walk away.
The schedule
At $599 a month against a $12,000 purchase price.
| Buy at | Rent paid | Credit earned | Balance to buy | Total to own |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Month 12Buyout opens | $7,188 | $4,313 | $7,687 | $15,170 |
| Month 18 | $10,782 | $6,469 | $5,531 | $16,608 |
| Month 24 | $14,376 | $8,626 | $3,374 | $18,045 |
| Month 30 | $17,970 | $10,782 | $1,218 | $19,483 |
| Month 34Fully credited, yours for the transfer fee | $20,366 | $12,000 | $0 | $20,661 |
| Month 36Fully credited, yours for the transfer fee | $21,564 | $12,000 | $0 | $21,859 |
Total to own is every rental payment made, plus the outstanding balance, plus the $295 transfer fee. Fully credited at month 34. Switch pods in the calculator above to see the other two schedules.
Questions
In total, yes. Buying on day one is the cheapest way to own a pod. Rent-to-buy costs more because you are also paying for use, servicing, and the right to walk away, and because 40% of each payment is rent rather than credit. The calculator shows both totals side by side so the gap is visible rather than buried.
The credit is attached to the agreement, not the address. We relocate the pod as we would on any rental, and the accrued credit carries over untouched.
Yes. The credit transfers to the new pod and the buyout is recalculated against that pod's purchase price. Moving up to a larger pod means the balance to buy is higher.
Nothing happens. It stays an ordinary rental for as long as you want it, and you can return it on the usual notice. The credit is only ever applied against a purchase, and it is not refundable as cash.
It stops at the purchase price. Once cumulative credit reaches the price, the balance to buy is zero and the pod becomes yours for the transfer fee alone.
Not currently. The buyout is a single payment. Talk to us if that is the only thing standing in the way and we will see what is possible.
Tell us the metro and the pod. We will confirm the monthly fee, the purchase price we would hold it at, and the date the buyout opens.
